How To Measure Guides

Measuring for blinds is simple!

Always use a steel measuring tape and measure in millimeters.
Windows are often not square.
Measure all your windows even if they appear to be the same.
Decide if you want your blinds to sit within the reveal of your window (inside mount), or on your architrave (outside mount).
If you require an inside mount ensure that there is sufficient space for the blind to sit inside the reveal.

ALWAYS MEASURE WIDTH FIRST THEN HEIGHT.

Measure the exact window opening size. Do not make any deductions. We will make allowances to allow free movement of the blind within the window reveal.
Width: Measure in three (3) places (top, middle and bottom), and use the narrowest measurement.
Height: Measure in three (3) places and use the tallest measurement.

You determine the exact width you want your blind. The factory will make your blind the exact size you specify.
The width measurement is bracket to bracket for rollers. The actual fabric width is approximately 28-30mm narrower than the bracket to bracket measurement
The width measurement for all other blinds is 5 mm narrower than the exact measurement of the window.

For Inside and Outside Mounts

The drop measurement for venetians is 5mm less than the exact drop measurement supplied
The drop measurement for panel glides is 15mm less than the exact drop measurement supplied. This allows for the fabric to "drop"
The drop measurement for verticals is 7mm less than the exact drop measurement supplied. ie a sliding door drop measurement would be top of window to floor and blind is supplied 7mm shorter for blades to clear the floor.
The drop measurement for Roman blinds is 10mm less than the measurement supplied. This allows for the fabric to "drop"
